Bio

Ponchi, also known as Armen Proyan, was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1968. His passion for painting began at a young age, starting his studies in painting at 12 years old. In 1989, he pursued formal education in the Academy of Fine Arts in Yerevan. During his studies, he gained experience in illustrating books and working as a cartoon animation artist, specializing in backgrounds, for a local studio.

After completing his studies and graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1995, Ponchi's artistic journey led him to Greece in 1997. His works were showcased in various celebrated galleries, establishing his presence in the art scene.  Ponchi's artwork has found its place in numerous private collections worldwide, a testament to its value and appeal.

In 2009, after a 12-year absence, Ponchi returned to Armenia and resumed his artistic pursuits, infusing life's vibrant colors onto his canvas. In 2016, he made a significant move to San Diego, California, where he continues to explore and express his artistic vision.

Throughout his career, Ponchi has participated in numerous exhibitions, showcasing his artwork to appreciative audiences. 

Ponchi's artistic journey reflects his unwavering dedication to his craft, capturing the essence of life through his expressive paintings. With each stroke, he invites viewers to experience the colors, emotions, and stories embedded within his canvases.
